Are types kinds of personalities?

Many things go into the makeup of a personality — genetics, family life, life circumstances outside the family, society's expectations and requirements, and many learned traits; psychological type is just one aspect of personality. But type is not synonymous with personality. With people who are likely to be put off by the term psychological, I refer to the types as personality types.
