The Organizational and Team Culture Indicator™, developed by Carol Pearson, Ph.D., measures the ways individual employees in an organization perceive the company's culture and brand. However, participation by an entire organization, or even a smaller team, is not necessary. Individual employees may take the OTCI® independently, without the need for the involvement of a qualified professional.
The low cost OTCI® Basic Report provides scores and graphs of an individual's personal perceptions of the prevalence of twelve archetypal roles (Ruler, Innocent, Hero, Everyperson, Explorer, Caregiver, Lover, Revolutionary, Creator, Magician, Sage, and Jester) in the culture of the organization where they work. Each report is accompanied by the booklet Understanding Archetypes in Organizations: An Introduction to the OTCI® Basic Report, which describes the twelve organizational archetypes and provides guidance in interpreting and applying results.
This use of the OTCI is a powerful tool for identifying potential sources of job satisfaction and compatibility between different employees and their work environments. Employees whose personal values and orientations are aligned with their organizational culture are likely to be more satisfied, more productive, and less susceptible to voluntary turnover. An OTCI® Basic Report in conjunction with the Pearson-Marr Archetype Indicator®, which assesses personal archetypes similar to those of the OTCI, enables a direct comparison of personal and workplace archetypes.
The OTCI Basic Report is available online or in paper form.
