Use of the OTCI® with the PMAI™ Assessment

Overwhelming evidence from research on employee engagement confirms that alignment of organizational culture with the values, beliefs, and goals of individual employees is mutually beneficial. An individual working for an organization compatible with his or her personality and preferences will enjoy a more rewarding and successful career. Because the quality of work will reflect more personal investment and care, the organization will in turn enjoy increased productivity and profitability.

Two of CAPT's low-cost assessment instruments, the Organizational and Team Culture Indicator™ and the Pearson-Marr Archetype Indicator®, can be taken in conjunction to help individuals explore how well they fit with their workplace. Both measures look at the deep-seated, often unconscious themes (known as archetypes) that characterize behaviors and roles. The PMAI™ looks at personal archetypal themes, while the OTCI® (basic report version) measures perceptions of workplace cultural themes. Because the archetypes assessed in these two instruments correspond one-to-one, individuals are able to compare their personal archetypes against those they perceive in their work environment.

This comparison often proves very illuminating. Close agreement is a good indicator of a personally comfortable work environment and probable job satisfaction. Differences can bring to light potential conflicts, sometimes major, sometimes insignificant. When job satisfaction is low, the two instruments can help discover the source of the dissatisfaction and suggest changes to remedy it.

Both instruments are unrestricted (available to anyone) and can be taken online.
