Murphy-Meisgeier Type Indicator for Children® (MMTIC®)

Class Schedule and Registration

Adults who discover psychological type marvel at the way the theory describes their best ways of living and learning. Children find that same joyful experience. The MMTIC® assessment is designed to meet the unique type assessment challenges of children and teenagers (from elementary through high school). Helping them identify their psychological type preferences is a tremendous asset to self-understanding, better learning, and healthy relationships.

By attending this program, educators, counselors, and parents will learn to:

  • Explain type concepts to children in a way they can understand and use
  • Recognize how type development evolves through the developmental stages of childhood through adolescence
  • Identify effective instructional and parenting strategies for children of all types and different teacher–student type combinations

Type differences appear to have a profound effect on early learning, and the Murphy-Meisgeier Type Indicator for Children® (MMTIC®) instrument is the teacher's choice for identifying individual type preferences. As the most highly regarded and widely used assessment tool for determining psychological type in children, the MMTIC instrument reports the same scales as the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI®) instrument.

The course covers the following:

  • Development and use of the MMTIC instrument
  • The developmental stages of type
  • Interpreting MMTIC results for children, parents, and school personnel
  • Using personality type to facilitate individual learning
  • Differentiating lesson plans and curricula for different types
  • Using the MMTIC to enhance children’s self-awareness, achievement, and social interaction
  • Helping children meet environmental demands using personally effective strategies in the home and the school
  • Distinguishing characteristics of psychological type from other determinants of children's behavior
  • Identifying the strengths and stretches of each type

Tuition includes:

  • Notebook of program materials
  • The Developing Child and The Chemistry of Personality
  • One copy of each of the three student workbooks
  • Sample MMTIC booklet and answer sheet
  • MMTIC® Manual
  • Document of completion
